Inspired by… the tall grasses on the sandy, winding path to a Normandy Beach. The scene of terror during WWII, now a peaceful and inviting path.
The day we were there, the gentle ocean breeze made the grasses sway softly. It was an easy stroll to the beach from the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. Visiting the memorial was so impactful; the enormity of what transpired on those grounds is overwhelming. The loss of life was tremendous but the heroics of those days are also inspiring.
Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, is a World War II cemetery and memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy, France.
